We are excited to share that First Tee – Prairies has received several grants in both Saskatchewan and Manitoba which have allowed us to expand our programs and provide more children with the opportunity to learn and grow through golf.
Saskatchewan grants of nearly $20,000 help grow First Tee community and school programming
- The City of Regina’s Community Investment Grants Program granted $9,800, which will support two community programs, including an all-girls program.
- The City of Saskatoon’s Sport Projects Grant provided $5,500 to support the onboarding of two Saskatoon-based elementary schools.
- The 1989 Jeux de Canada Games Foundation granted $3,000 to assist with the purchase of a First Tee Equipment Kit for a school in Saskatoon.
- The Coaches Association of Saskatchewan provided a Coach Development Grant of $600 for coach training and development, covering registration and travel costs for First Tee Level 1 and Level 2 instructor training.
Manitoba grants over $26,000 to build out community hubs across the province
- The Big Grass Community Foundation granted $5,500 to introduce accessible and inclusive golf programming to youth in Westlake Gladstone and the surrounding area. This initiative aims to foster skill development, character building, and community engagement through golf.
- The Winnipeg Foundation’s Children and Youth Program Grants awarded $18,000 to launch a northern Winnipeg First Tee Hub. First Tee – Prairies will partner with a golf course, five schools, and one community centre in North Winnipeg to deliver accessible programming.
- Sport Manitoba Coaching provided a $3,000 grant for coach training and development, reducing barriers for Manitoba coaches in attending community junior golf and First Tee Level 2 instructor training.
These contributions are vital in helping First Tee – Prairies achieve our mission to build game changers through golf and life skills education. Thank you to all our donors for your unwavering support!
